MISSING: Jonas Danlig
‘Twas the last trip to Merville that I catched last night. With only four passengers inside (van’s capacity is 12, mind you), I lulled myself at the bench placed just across the van.
I chanced upon this fortysomething lady dressed smartly, asking the busy dispatcher if he could allow her to post flyer of her missing son within the terminal premise. It was such a strategic place, according to her, to post it. The guy declined promptly, saying he has no authority over that matter and suggested instead if she could talk directly with the terminal authorities.
From her trasparent portfolio, I saw the flyers. In bold letters, it says that Jonas Danlig is missing since May 27 of this year and was last seen at SM Bicutan. The boy is 14 year old. The other details were enumerated at the bottom of the flyer including some distinctive marks.
Feeling she failed on her purpose, she left the terminal and walks toward Ayala Ave. Maybe she left with a heavy heart and in great desperation.
I feel for her. I haven’t gone searching for a lost love one but the agony of doing so is horrible. It’s a painful process of hoping against hope that you are searching for someone that still is alive. I hope so that Jonas Danlig still is.
Let us pray for cases like this.
The van left the terminal at 10:30 PM. I retired my day at 12 midnight.
